volunteer

We are seeking volunteers to join us in maintenance, restoration projects, administrative tasks, bookkeeping, boat tours and hosting of visitors and sharing stories of 9/11 and the John D. McKean! Stories about specific FDNY and NYC events, 9/11, knowledge of the McKean, Hudson River and maritime history all are appreciated!

Working hands are always needed. Serve as a deckhand on one of our excursions, share your engineering or mechanical experience, spend a day painting - or help us with marketing to help us get the word out - the more the merrier! Email info@fireboatmckean.org to let us know of your interest.

Legacy Gifts

If you would like provide for the future of the McKean in your will or with a bequest, please contact us for simple language to share with your attorney or incorporate into your will. You will be forever honored in our Legacy Society with a plaque on the John D. McKean.

If you are donating in memory or in honor of a friend or loved one, we will inform the person you are honoring or their family of your generous tribute in their honor. Please provide the name and address of who you would like us to inform of your gift in the memo section on Pay Pal online, or in a notation with your mailed check.
